Summer is here and rooftops are the place to be. If you’re in Charlotte, NC or the surrounding areas, put RH “formally known as Restoration Hardware” swank rooftop on your list (It is of note, that the RH Rooftop Restaurant concept is currently comprised of thirteen galleries within the country, so consider a location close to you-see below). The ambiance and service are top notch. Patrons are dining beneath glimmering chandeliers, amidst trickling fountains and olive trees. Can we say a divine experience with a great backdrop for photos! RH is a favorite of mine because I find it an inspiring space that blurs the lines of regional appeal. The three-story gallery is located at Phillips Place in SouthPark. The SouthPark neighborhood is deemed upscale and plays host to high end retailers, boutiques, luxury apartments and homes. Grab a friend(s) or make it a family outing this summer to enjoy the RH rooftop wine bar and/or restaurant. There isn’t a specific dress code, yet aim for smart to elegant casual. Feel free to take it up a notch from there depending upon mood, time of day or occasion.
WINE BAR
The wine bar does not offer food service. It is best utilized as an option to grab a drink while enjoying the rooftop terrace or perusing luxury home furnishings for purchase. Patrons can enjoy wine by the glass from vintners in the United States and Europe, cocktails, handcrafted coffees and other drinks. The wine bar is situated just off the grand staircase on the rooftop.
RESTAURANT
The restaurant is on the rooftop level and adjacent to the wine bar. It is best to make reservations. The menu isn’t cheap or overly expensive yet expect to spend upwards of one hundred dollars or more depending upon size of party. Menu items are priced a la carte. The food is not as dreamy and imaginative as the ambiance, yet I consider it good and geared towards a sophisticated palate. The truffle fries and lobster roll are amongst the best in the city.
